no need to trim anything, just torque em to factory 101 ft-lbs and retorque after 100kms
i retorqued today and the spacers kept there torque setting, everything stayed perfectly torqued which makes me happy i was always sceptical about spacers but these H&R 25s are excellent quality, hub-center is perfect and the fact that they come with low-pro bolts and bolt to hub then u use ur original bolts makes me feel better looks much better the wheel/tire looks deadly now no vibrations no difference other than the fact that i think it handles the corners a lil different seems to turn at a more higher progressive rate ounce u get the steering wheel after about 45* degrees the picture in the garage taken of the left rear wheel is before install, the pic of the right side with the dog is after install the picture in the truck shop was before install |
hey ECS what happen to the train that my licence plate LED lights wer on>????
|
Looks AWESOME. You installed the spacers just in the rear, right?

Some here (myself included) needed to trim 1/16" off the OE bolts to fit the H&R 25mm DRA spacers. This is to prevent the bolts from bottoming out on the hub face. Here's a pic of mine on the H&R 25mm DRA and a pic of a bolt that was severely bottomed out on the hub causing it to become unremovable from the spacer.

Key word in your statement is "shouldn't". Spacers can amplify small problems in the suspension and make them feel much more severe. I know this from previous experience with my e39. Had to replace subframe bushings and rear control arms. They were obviously in need of replacement but the spacers made the rear wheels shake. |
Sorry for the Naive question but
Spacers purpose?? Looks? or something else? |
pure looks.

If yes, it bay be the center of the wheel that is not as thick as a OE wheel and causing the bolt to be too long. People with aftermarket wheels and 25mm DRA spacers should take a look. |

95% looks 5% I do have a different feel when I take hard corners, can't say it handles better, but can't say it handles worse, the seX5 turns harder then it did b4 after 45' degrees of the steering wheel |

Now I have a question for you. Are you the Xoutpost pic police? I post the pic because most members only look as far back as the most recent spacer thread, I post the pic to give those who look an idea of the difference 25mm spacers make. That OK with you? |

The pic of the bolt severely bottomed out happens to be my 25MM DRA spacers and this was NOT caused by not trimming down the 1/16". That was cause by over torquing and using an air impact gun to apply the bolts, as the instruction states, they need to be hand torqued. I had the spacers on my X for almost 2 years taking the wheels off myself during winter season to swap out. This happened to be the one time that I needed to replace my rear disk brakes/pads and I was too lazy to do myself. Took to an indie and viola. 3 of the OE bolts snapped off inside the spacer causing me to trash them because there is no coming back from that. Now I choose to ride without them. |

DTMdan, get your facts straight, posted a number of times in this 2nd most recent spacer thread without a SINGLE pic of my truck on spacers. |
