05 4.4i - Need Input from Everyone

Sorry for starting new thread. I need input from everyone out there. I ordered a 05 4.4 with all available options except 19inch wheels. I am getting a good deal from the dealer ~ 2600 off MSRP. I did not include Comfort Seats. By the time I could include the seats the web site showed that the vehicle was under production. I talked to the dealer today. Apparently the car has already been produced and I can't order the seats. If I tell the dealer that I want to reorder a new 4.4 - does it look bad since I never ordered seats in the initial order but added them later on or should I just keep the sport seats considering the deal.

Please Comment

Thanks to Chris F. and asnpcwiz who replied in the old thread.

What kind of "penalty" are you looking at to cancel the deal on this one and ordering another? Regrets are tough to live with, especially when you are shelling out this kind of dough for a vehicle.

My advice is get it the way you want it, even if it costs a few dollars more.

I am not sure if there any penalties invloved. I have not heard back from the dealer since I suggested this to them. Have you heard of any penalties??? I thought they can just sell the other X5.

Well, you could potentially be at risk of forfeiting any deposit you may have put down. But I would hope the dealer would work with you since you are not totally walking away but are going to be ordering another one. If they really become pricks about it then you could always threaten to take your order to another dealer.

For what it's worth, I love my comfort seats. I agree with UCrew that you should ask the dealer to take that car in inventory (they can probably make it available to other regional dealers as well) and order a new one. My 05 4.4 is a great source of pride and satisfaction every mile I drive. I would hate to have to sit there in the wrong seats wishing I would have done something different.

Good luck; keep us posted.

Have you sat in the comfort seats?

Best bet is to do a side by side sitdown before you make a monetary decision. I have the sport seats and wouldn't trade them for the world, but every butt has a seat it calls home :)

I decided to call my sales rep instead of waiting for his email. He is willing to order me a new 4.4 with the Comfort Seats. I am also ordering all available options - except 19 inch wheels (even though I love them but I live on the east coast and would hate to keep switching wheels due to snow). I am excited.
Since I can't use my IPOD because of DSP and Nav, I am getting the Auxillary Audio Input (in the glove box). I believe it's around 40 dollars.

Since I am getting the Comfort Seats should I still get the Sports Package????

Actually you can use your iPod with DSP and Nav - with Dension's Ice Link Plus system. See http://www.dension.com/main.php?pageid=50&topid=42

And if it were me I would most definately get the Sport Package.

Dude, you need to get 20s' on your ride. Get the stock 18s, but look into the 20s b/c its like night and day. Yeah, its a PITA to swap them out, but its worth it!
