The positive things I took away from that picture are that it seems to have similar proportions to our current X5, maybe a little more front overhang but the rear overhang still looks quite tight and dynamic. The front end looks like it could be an evolution of the existing one (which is a good thing) rather than being some weird progeny of an X3/5 series.

Although there is cladding it looks like it's hiding a 'feature', which lets face it would make quite a change from most modern slab sided BMWs. I'm hopeful that there is a shape underneath the cladding that's worth hiding. It looks like it's been designed with 20" wheels from the outset and the arches are suitably flared and muscular, which is a characteristic the X5 posseses over the Cayenne for instance.

I guess overall it looks quite dynamic and recognisably an X5, all of which I take as being a good sign.
