A miserable dealership tale

I just had an experience which reinforced my HATRED of car dealers.
These people are the lowest form of life on earth.
I am trying to trade my EX CPO 06 BMW X5 in for a CPO 09 BMW x5.
I am being very specific in what I want in the "new" car, just as I was when I bought the the 06.
So this search has been ongoing and I have been to various local dealers.
Today I called (local dealer) in Ft Lauderdale and spoke to the salesperson I
have spoken to a few times.
They have a car there that they have evidently been unable to sell...priced very high which is very close to what I am looking for.

I stopped in to see if they had reduced the price/deal.
I was VERY SPECIFIC in what I was willing to pay VERY SPECIFIC
After a conversation with the sales person and a phone conversation in which he ASSURED ME that we may be able to make a deal, and that he had spoken to the managers but they had to see my car again.
One more time I reitereated what I was willing to pay and he assured me that he has spoken with his manager and that we were very close
So, against my better judgement I drove over there....they will tell you anything to get you to come in.
Needless to say these lowlife scum must think that I (and most buyers are) morons and was going to fold on what I was willing to pay....To say that they are LIARS is putting it mildly....as far as I am concerned the staff at (local) BMW are a bunch of LOWLIFE
SCUM...believe me as a 35+ year member of the BMW club I will tell anyone
willing to listen about this dealership

Not all dealers are like this. When I found the X I was looking for online at Sanford Acura (1.5 hr drive from my FL home), I called and told them If the truck is as good as they say/looks online and passes the PPI I would give them $5k less then the asking price INCLUDING tax, tag and title. They honored the verbal phone agreement and I got it for over $7k below KBB.

I am just so disappointed in the treatment I received that I guess I needed to rant to both boards...
I still feel annoyed by these miserable excuses for human beings.

I want to get another CPO vehicle...the warranty is up on my 06, and since my wife uses it mainly I don't want any problems.

Not that the CPO is so great here, it seems that some of the repairs I paid for may have been covered by another dealer, if they made the effort (other than any owned by Holman...Lauderdale BMW)

Daka

The same people read all the boards and trust me I don't believe they are
in communication with your dealer. I believe we got the message.
The thing to do now is learn from the experience. There are members
here that have bought exactly what they wanted because they know how the
game is played. Instead of Ranting ask questions and take notes.

Wish you the best (BTW don't be a hater it's wasted energy)

I have had the same experiance with 2 dealers. (not BMW) One was a 6 hour drive and they gave me the old bait & switch when I got there. The other was a "reputable" Toyota dealer. After talking with the sales person nd him telling me the great deal he's going to give me I took the hour and a half drive. Not only would he not budge on the price but he only offered $1000 trade in on a $6k retail car and then he told me financing was 7% after he offered me 2.9% over the phone. His excuse was he forgot it was a toyota cpo. He's been calling me for 2 weeks. Nope I'm done with dealers. I'll get a lease turn it from the auction. Same ones they buy for 10k less.

Dude unless you agreed on an actual value "we're very close" means come in and we'll try and talk you up to the price we want.

No offence but you can really only blame yourself for expecting anything other.....

The point of my "story" was just to point out what happens too often.
After having two "good" experiences the "managers" at this dealership let me know what LYIN SCUM they can be...you don't tell someone that you are close on a deal and then go from $500 a month that you said you could do to $780.
