Need a window regulator clip

1 Attachment(s)
So I got around to pulling my door apart. I found the common problem, the cheap $1.24 window clip. I replaced it but I still have the same problem. The window is getting stuck at the bottom. Upon further inspection I found the plastic on the regulator clip which attaches to the cable lug is broken and the cable does not grab. I called BMW and they told me they are part of the regulator??? I'm not sure if the guy knew what I was explaining to him or not. Does anyone know if this part is available from BMW. If so does anyone have a part # for the right front door. I really dont want to spend $200 on a regulator if I dont have to.
Thanks

This is what I found on ebay. It is all plastic unlike the oem which is plastic on metal, unless it mounts to the metal somehow?

I don't think BMW has a part number for that. You need to buy the entire regulator. You don't have to get it from BMW though.

I got mine through here. Your Parts Search Returned 8 Part(s).

Hope that helps.

Common problem? If I'm not mistaken, this is that same plastic clip that's broken.

Its an inexpensive fix a la Mrbmwx5. He forgets more things about X5s/BMWs than I will ever know.

Tom does it again!

I'm going to try that with some liquid steel epoxy before I spend close to $200 on a regulator. I just dont want to keep tearing the door panel off.

Dont feel like pulling the door panel again later so I just bought a new oem BMW regulator from a guy on eBay. He had just sold one for $55 free shipping.
I asked if he had any more. He said he had another but wanted $55. plus $20 shipping. Good enough! Better than $170.

Hi ,
Glad you got it sorted.

That plastic clip would be all you need to fix it.You would have needed to drill out the pastic clip from the metal mounting plate and fit the new one in its place.
This mounting plate with the clip, only takes 5 secs to remove from the regulator metal frame,so its very easy to replace the plastic clip and you just need to pull the door card out and some protective sponge to access it.
No need to get a complete window regulator.

I didnt get the plastic clip for mine ,but made a small aluminium piece which is secured to metal plate with 3 tiny self tap screws and then reinforced with epoxy glue ,to make it even stronger than a plastic clip, which can still break.
