Cabin Filter Replacement
Tinkering with the X5 and decided to replace the cabin filter. I bougt a Mann filter and swapped it with what was in the car (perhaps original?). The filter that I removed has a platic border with yellow foam rubber around it. The border seems like a good idea and that it should be reusable. But the older filter seems glued on.
My question ... do I reuse the plastic border or do I just insert the new cabin filter? Much thanks. |
I used a few brands over the 11 years of our X; the look varied by brand, and maybe by quality level within the brand(s). I don't feel it is a critical item, and was too lazy to chase the oe version on the last few changes. As I change it every year, the cheaper/non oe versions seem to do fine, imo.
I rec'd using the 'snorkel' or 'couch cushion' attachment on your shop vac and poking down in the filter slot: amazing the leaves, bugs and debris at the base of that slot... My 50Cts. GL, mD |
Thanks and good vacuum advice.
