there are two parts listed for motorized headrest application: 52107064832 and 52107064831, they have different price points and suggest different options, S458A and S459A...

These options are showing this:

S458A Electr. front seat adjustment
S459A Seat adjuster, electric, with memory

Verbally, they sound different but logically, look like describing the same thing...

I wonder if the other part would accomodate the cable inside the metal bar...

Do you know which of the two options your car is fitted with?

For vehicles with Seat adjuster, electric, with memory
S459A=Yes 16 Drive,vertical headrest adjustm., memory 1 11/2001 52107064832 $205.37

According to the picture that you have for your seat, you have part # 52107064831...

I could not find any pictures of either of these two parts, to see if there is any significant difference between the two...

OK, Ill probly just fasten them on the inner seat and grease up the holes so they slide easire, quick fix but it should do the trick, thank you very much for all the help.

Last thing, i couldnt help but notice your sig picture. do you have any other pics or tastefull mod ideas? i just purchased a black 4.8is.

i've got two black X5s, 4.6iS and 4.8iS... With the mods, the sky is the limit: you can go with Dinan stage I, II, III to get yourself a 1000 hp monster, or just install a cell phone holder from a Pro-Fit and call it a day...

Chances are that you have a Nav, so I would suggest installing a rearview camera. The full, complete retrofit is probably way overpriced, but you can get a relatively cheap camera off the ebay (do not get the camera that fits into license plate light), but then you need a device that will let you do the switching... I have a factory TV tuner, which was working fine before the US went to digital signal... But the TV module also allows the rear camera to switch nto the front monitor... There could be other aftermarket, BMW-specific items that can do the same thing... There are DIY on this forum about the camera...

I would suggest couple programming adjustments - synching the car clock to the GPS clock, turning off the side yellow lights, turn off the annoying gong for the key in the ignition, and the seat belt...

I also used Plati-Dip to "paint" the original rims black - very cheap solution ($6 a can), and if I don't like it, i can always peel off the "paint"... my wife wants PINK wheels now... not gonna happen!!!!

another cheap mod, getting black and white roundels for front, back and the wheel hubs... I prefer plain black as opposed to carbon fiber black, as there are no carbon fiber items on the car's exterior...

since I have the factory TV tuner, I also added the TV AUX input/output... you can see it on the pic, under the rear seat heater buttons...

I also would suggest "no-blind-spot" outside mirrors but they are freaking too expensive - they are OE euro parts...

My mods are subtle, i don't race professionally nor as an amature - ocassionally i'll pick up a red-light race with a stupid kid in decked out honda... :nanana:so, i don't make major engine mods...

Thank you so much for all the info, Im most definitely going to look into the TV module with back up camera, my only question i have is, how do i program the car to mess with all the lights gong and text?

TerminatorX5 09-04-2012 11:29 PM

do your research - the TV signal in the US is no longer supported by those modules, even the hybrid, analog/digital modules... you might be able to get a similar aftermarket device but most of them chinese made...
programming is very dangerous thing, you can easily park the car for a long-long time... check out bmwcoders.com and bmwcoding com forums...
