Interior color of my 4.8is
Hi all! Just want to know the exact color of my 4.8is. According to the option list of my car, it says my interior color is Creambeige, option code is V9GE. In the fact, my interior color looks like black, lean to a little bit grey, not dark black. Is the creambeige (V9GE) looks like that? I am pretty confused, doen't creambeige look like white, lean to a little bit yellow? Thanks for help!

Maybe the previous owner changed it.

Hmmm, thats unusual. Maybe he ordered it sight unseen, thought it would be a nice color combo. Once he saw it, didn't like it and asked for them to change the interior color and it was done as a dealer installed option? The build sheet wouldn't change if the dealer altered something.
Or is it possible the leather looks dyed? |
roger, where did you look up the options for your car? here? bmwru.ru? That site is in russian and I have looked up the option list for a few guys on this board... if i haven't already looked it up for you, i can do it - i speak fluent russian... you will get your list in english... lol... :)

Now I believe that the previous owner changed the interior color for unknown reason. However, I am not sure that the current interior color is V9SW or LCSW, does anyone here know the difference between Leather Dakota/schwarz (LCSW) and Leather Walknappa, exclusive/scharz (V9SW)? Thanks!

So according to this, the 4.8is's get the exclusive leather with the V9 code. So the V9SW is exclusive to the 4.8is. I would assume that is what you have because I doubt someone would spend the money when brand new to do the switch. I am sure the dealership did that work. Another way to tell is look at the seat. So from what I gather from pictures, 3.0 and 4.4's got the same sport seat. Basically just flat leather, with hip and back huggers. The 4.8's got the hip huggers, but also got detailed stitching. So the seat should look like 3 pcs of leather stitched together. I am going to say that is exclusive to the V9 code. I'll take some detailed pictures of mine because mine is the V9SW code. |

Nappa leather is softer and smoother feel, but not as durable while Dakota has little rough feel in comparison, but is durable. Dakota was used on 3.0 and 4.4i. Nappa on 4.6is and 4.8is. |

my 4.6iS has the TEILLEDER W.N./SCHWARZ (N5SW) and the 4.8iS has the EXCLUSIVLEDER WALKNAPPA/SCHWARZ (V9SW)... both interior are black, both are sport seats but the 4.8 has two variations of the leather texture, smooth and "goose bumps" - the "goose bumps" are inserts on the buttom and the back, and on the headrest the "goose bumps" are on the sides of the headrest...
Yours is very strange case, definetely someone had changed the seats on you... Do the rear seats match the front? what about the sides on the rear seats, the ones that are aligned with the rear backrests but do not move, and make the part of the C-pillar? Do they match? That is the part #7 on the diagram |
