Replaced DISA and car doesn't run anymore.

I have been having stalling at low speed every now and then so decided to check DISA (Adjuster). It had no tension any more and flap was moving freely. I just replaced it with oem bought from dealer. I also took out Idle Control Valve, cleaned it and put it back.
Now car shuts down after starting after jerking crazy for a few seconds. If I push gas button it shut down immediately. Also there is some sound coming from engine. Trans Safe Fail is coming on sometimes too.
I tried reseting adaptive thing but it didn't fix it. Also tried disconnecting electric plug for DISA and no change at all.
I am going to put back the old one back tomorrow to see what happens.

Any idea what might have caused it? Could it be that I got a bad part from dealer?

Its unlikely the disa valve is the problem, as long as it's in all the way and sealing to the intake.
More likely the problem is with removing, cleaning, and reinstalling the idle control valve.
Retrace your steps and check everything. Look for tears in the intake boot, check all the electrical connections.

Bastero,
You are correct. After reading more I remembered that ICV was not making a sound when I was cleaning it. I took it out this morning and cleaned it better and now when I shake it hard it is making a sound.
After putting it back I noticed some improvements. Car doesn't shut down any more but is still jerking and every now and then makes that very laoud sound that I am pretty sure is the ICV.
Could it be that I need a new one?

It is hard to tell from reading a post online what your problem is. If you are confident that you checked everything, connected everything, you now need to scan for codes. It is hard to help without more diagnosis.

Just need to know that ICV is a part that people replace or cleaning it should suffice?

I don't think it should make noise.

I don't have an answer on the clean or replace question.

In case someone has the same issue, I had not installed the ICV properly. Even though the screws were all aligned and it appeared it was in correct position the rear side part had not gone inside the tube.

So, installing a new DISA and properly re-installing the cleaned ICV solved your problem?

I wonder if you needed the DISA in the first place. No tension and flap moving freely means its a bad DISA?

I think that is also the last step before engine eats pieces of DISA valve.
And your wallet...

DISA was broken definitely and I am sure a few months ago it was not as I had checked it during the lower intake boot replacement.
I think my problem is fixed but I would wait a few days before declare victory. I have been having the intermittent stall problem at low speeds with no error code at all for a few months which has been driving me crazy.

I am not sure the broken DISA was responsible for it or the stuck ICV. If it is fixed I might put back the broken DISA back to find out. It only takes a minute to do so.
