How long will my battery last if trunk is left open

Got up today went to put something in the trunk and it was open, not fully raised but I didn’t here the lock disengage and make the clicking sound as I pressed to open it so must have been open, I know for a fact that the two lights come on when the trunk is open so was worried about a flat battery …..luckily the engine was able to turn over…..being too lazy to do the maths of amps per hour etc vs wattage of the bulbs in the back….how long would the battery last if it was left open again by accident? ….and is there anyway to easily disable those trunk lid lights without having to remove em?thanks

Those rear lights are automatic and will eventually "go to sleep" like the rest of the car,so no worries there!
Did you notice any hesitance when starting the car ,or was it all normal?

Phew thanks fella, nope fired up fine, had no the lights powered down, so whenever i work in the boot/trunk area i grab a pencil or screwdriver and make the locking mechanism lock and the lights go out....

No problems living boot, doors or bonnet open.
Me on the other hand, while I was fixing my window regulator and winding the window up/down a number of times and also when I was fixing my cd changer and connecting /testing it by plugging it in a number of times,I couldnt start the car:(......
Battery is fine and I have since charged it,but its common problem with most Bmw cars that after 30 mins, ignition on ,it wont start! Why here ,at the dealers we always hook up battery tenders while we doing any diagnostics or programming! In fact ,it wont allow us to program until battery voltage is 12.8 +!!!
