New 20" wheels

They come staggered (20x9front 20x10rear) or i can get them 20x9 all or 20x10 all. The place says i should get the wheels with a 275/45/20 because its more tire but isnt it supposed to be 275/40 and not 275/45?

Isnt the bigger size going to mess with the mileage?

woah those are hot!
how much r they for a set? do they make them in 22s?

ChristopherM3 01-03-2006 01:46 AM

I like the wide lip on that wheel..............

I know mine are 275/40/20 on the front (20 x 9.5) and 315/35/20 on the rear (20 x 10.5) OEM Style 87.

I don't know what those wheels come in? What brand are they?

The bigger size tyre is going to mess up your rolling diametre! You will be riding 20mm up on oem tyres(235/65/17).It will also give you false speedo readings(2.7% error)and your car will feel slower accellerating. The BMW recommended front 20" tyre is in fact 275/40.Some of our members also ride fine on 295/40(only 7mm up on oem!).In any case do not fit the 275 tyre on a 10" wheel!

DarkHaze 01-03-2006 01:26 PM

its going to be a 20x9 wheel..... so i should go with the 40 and not the 45?

X5Dawg 01-03-2006 02:27 PM

DarkHaze - what color X are you putting those on??

DarkHaze 01-03-2006 03:20 PM

With a 20x9" wheel you should fit 275/40/20.You may also get away with fitting the 295/40/20!!The tyre size they want to sell you(275/45/20) is not advisable for the reasons I already described in my previous post!

e53fanatic 01-03-2006 08:37 PM

they come in 22 also....

The white and black contrast will make your X look better than the the black one on the photo.Go for it............

X5Dawg 01-04-2006 10:44 AM

You all are mean!!!!! :) I did not have Photoshop to do that pic - I used the Paint program in XP to do it.

....and what would that be? What could actually be wrong with wheels?

They come with a 1 year warranty on all defects or chipping, peeling, etc. If theyre cheap, then anything that will go wrong will definitely happen within the first year.

exactly what you talked about.. from experience, just be careful and know what you are getting into. a buddy of mine bought some wheels nearly identical to these off ebay for his e46 and about six months later the finish dulled and the clear started chipping. he couldn't get ahold of anyone to get the problem fixed.

just fyi, trying to add some insight to a situation.

no youre totally right..... im just thinking with the 1 year warranty, it would cover any major issues that might come up right away if theyre sh-tty wheels
