Radical Odd Ball Question - 4.6is Rims

Would a set of rears fit on the front? Nice wide stance :)

Probably need spacers?

Tim:

I remember some posts (but don't have links) to this some time ago on Roadfly. I think they fit, but the results were not good...

Sorry - that's all I got for you.

Jan's running 20x10.5 rims (4.6) all around for his winter setup. So they should fit.

I remember Steve DINAN's X5 is setup that way.

They would probably trammel like a big dog BUT would stick like glue :D

Yup I am running 315's all around during the winter :D
I have a few pictures at http://www.janixworld.com/x5/Wheels/

As for ride comfort you'll be surprised as it's not worse than the stock setup. The handling is of course very different as it will corner like a go-cart (the Dinan camber plates help of course). Due to the size of the front tires the car will now follow every little imperfection on the road. My initial plan was to use the wheels/tires for the track but as I have not taken the car on the track (travelling too much) I am now using them as my "winter" setup.
For a perfect look one could consider using 30mm spacers on the rear but I am not a great fan of the spacers and their mounting via bolts and lugnuts (mounting surface of the lugnuts much smaller than the OEM bolts).
