Bass speakers not working

I have searched for months for an answer to this problem : the speakers in my 2004 x5 non-dsp do not work. I only get sound from the tweeters . I have tried three different amps , that's not the problem I took it to an audio shop they can't find anything wrong with it. I guess my next stop is the dealer I'm really scared about the price. It really sounds like loose wiring because the speakers came for like 5 seconds the other day. I have searched the forms and others have had similar problems but no one had a fix. help!!

if its going to cause more than what you think..maybe it will be better to get aftermarket sound system?.........or it maybe your head unit?...

The dealer will charge to much for replacement speakers as they only sell the whole speaker with the cone. If you are handy, buy a signal tester from radio shack, test the lines to see if it's the woofers... Or go to best buy, buy the cheapest set of speakers they have, connect then to see, then return them and buy the replacement woofers from BSW....

have you tested one of the bad woofers directly?

I had this same problem for almost a month. It is not your amp, its your speakers. Take out the speakers and test them. The soldering point on the speakers pop. For me I had two blown speakers and two with popped soldered points.

Definitely would be a faulty speaker or the wiring to it with the symptoms you are describing. If you would like to try out a pair of our speakers we do have a 30 day guarantee period you are able to send them back within if they don't work out for you!

Given that Melman posted just once, around seven years ago, don't hold your breath for an answer. ;)

Like others have said, the factory door speakers are prone to connection issues on the speaker terminals. I have one like that now and will address it if I ever open up that door. Good thing I don't listen to music in the car.... (the sound of an I6 engine on song is music to my ears.).

Not sure if you had figured out your issue, but I just bought an '04 X5 and none of the lower speakers worked.

It ended up being that all 4 speakers were blown. I popped the door panels, cut the wire terminals and tested it on other speakers.

Gofigure, after ordering a DSP amp and thinking the Alpine amp was blown, it was the speakers this entire time.

It's VERY odd that all 4 speakers would blow at the same time. I even jumpered past the connectors and solder joints, to no avail.

Hope this helps someone
