cons1 and cons2
HI all, how do i turn this off, i only want one mpg display, as i cycle through the option via the stalk , i get cons1 cons2 timer temp etc, is there no way just to have one consumption? dug out the handboook but no joy, also read that runnin the car with less than enough gas that would cover 30miles can be harmful? i have done it many times before and got to last 14miles of the thak before filling up with no issues, any ideas much appreciated

IIRC, you need to have a right software to code the BC display inorder to turn off one of the Cons.
As I see it, running the car with low fuel in the tank is not good for your fuel pump and filter. All the stuffs at the bottom of the tank get suck up by the pump and might clog up your filter. You are also having the risk of frying your pump if the gas get way too low in the tank. |
The fuel in the tank also cools the pump. Not sure if it being low, would do any harm. Probably the idea is to not pick up crud from the bottom of tank. Honestly, the last modern tank I looked into, was surprisingly clean.
As far as obc functions, I am pretty sure I can choose whatever I want from the navigation. I can turn on and off all the different choices. |
Running around with low fuel in the tank will shorten the life of the pump. As for debris; I would really worry about it, fuel these days is pretty clean from major fuel chains.

A tip? Deselect all of them and then select them in the order you want to scroll through. Want to see date first, then time? Select in that order with either (NAV or non-NAV) radio controls and it will display in that order. |
