E53 driver side xenon intermitent problem. relay? module?
Hya,
After some days having troubles with my left side (driver side) xenon headlight, like working, not working, i decided to test all, to isolate the cause. I replaced from the right (passenger side) headlight, and tested every part repalced turning on BOTH headlights. 1 - xenon bulbs - all perfect. 2 - xenon igniter - all perrfet 3 - ballast - all perfect. Not having more in the headlights to test, i did test the sockets from the harness, and found out that the yellow wire (pin 3) for low light in driver side not transporting power. Question: are there relays for the xenon low bems of the E53? - If yes, where are it located? Best regards and thx in advance. Paulo |
If I remember correctly the power to the light is supplied through a fuse directly from the Light Control Module.

Thx for the info....
BTW, where can i get the schematics for the E53 4.8is 2006 (my car)? |
I use the Bentley Manual.

Where can i get the Bentley manual?
TIA, Paulo |
Hya,
i did find the bentley manual, but it will take some time to arrive. In the meantime, could someone send me the LCM schematics and also the LCM to headlight schema, so i can try to isolate the problem? Could someone also tell me if there is any fuse between the LCM and the headlight and where would it be located? The left (drivers side) low beam does not lights, there is no error message and the pin 3 (yellow wire) from the harness to headlight have no power (12V) when lights are on. Thx all in advance, Paulo |
I have the same problem with my 2006, but I’m away until Christmas and the X5 is on the garage with the battery tender. Please let us know how you fix it. Thank you for your post.
