Are the Sport Seats that Uncomfortable??
 

After reading a few threads here from members who say 'get the comfort seats', I'm curious to know if the sport seats are that uncomfortable??? How much of a difference is it?? I ordered my 4.4i without the comfort seats but if it makes a huge difference then i'll really need to consider it quick before it goes into production. Its 'on order' and hasn't been scheduled for production yet. TIA

I like them, had them on a 325iM and now on the X5. If you are not well endowed (and I mean around the waist) then it is a snug fit, the high sides really minimize lateral movement. But remember you may bounce a bit on them (up and down). Lumbar support is an option to consider (electrically adjustable). Big people might find themselves being compressed a touch in sport seats - they will also be the ones who wear these seats down the quickest.

I haven't suffered with them in mine, the only time I get a little hacked off is when going over bumpy terrain or even speed humps, the seats have less "forgiveness" especially when coupled with the sports suspension.

When I was test driving an X5 with comfort seats, I actually found my back starting to hurt a little,

I have sport seats and they are better than the regular seats. Since I am not a big guy(around the waist), the sides do not bother me. Also the seat extension helps. If only they would have used a little more cushion, they sport seats would be great.

I love my sport seats. Much better than standard seats. I don't think they're uncomfortable at all.

The comfort seats I believe give you alot more adustment options. The sport seats give you lumbar and the ability to extend the seat. I sat in a 05 4.8 w/ confort seats and you can adjust all types of stuff like having the upper part of the seat lean forward and I am not talking about the normal forward/back adjustment.

thanks guys. i guess i'll just stick to the sport seats. im not big around the waist so it shouldn't be a problem.

I have sports seats and after a few times riding in them I finally found a comfort zone. They do provide good support in all driving situations.
