clear corners - either aftermarket (choose carefully, some of them are hideous), OE euro version (will cost $1500-2500), or bake lights off to break the ambers (even though "they" say 2004+ is not bakeable, it has been recently done, search the forum)
turn off corners - NCSExpert fogs together with highbeams - NCSExpert Angel Eyes alone - aftemarket units AE with fog lights - somewhere in programming, I have not found it yet bi-xenon with halogen high beams - somewhere in programming turn off gong for key in ignition and seat belt for driver and pass - NCSExpert clock synch with GPS - NCSExpert read up about the NCSExpert before using it, otherwise you will brick the truck... ride height - INPA, you will need to supply new values for the ride height. I have the factory values in mm somewhere on the forum, I will copy and paste once i find them... I've heard the lower ride is not as nice... other option, get rid of air ride, go for coils, you will program out the air suspension, so the car does not go biserk, looking for an option that is deleted... try not edit your older post as a lot of folks just skim for the new posts and your old ones that had been read (but got edited with new info!!) might get overlooked... or, do a new post, saying that the original post got edited - handy when you plan meets, or gatherings, and have post #1 with all the info, constantly updated... |
here is the ride heights in mm as prescribed from the factory:
_______________ 17"____18"____19"____20"___these are wheel sizes front axle_______685____697____710____722 rear axle________687____699____712____724 sport fr_________670____682____695____707 sport rr_________672____684____697____709 |
You can use DIS to calibrate the suspension and lower it too. When you get to the point where is asks for the current values, just add to the value. For instance, if you want to lower 10mm, add 10 mm to your measured value. This will trick it into calibrating 10mm lower. When you want to go back to stock, just run the calibration again using actual values...

At 18, you should expect to take a few handouts from your parents. Don't feel bad about it, but don't brag that you're "self made". Having 3 cars at 18 shows you are completely disconnected with reality as no 18 year old needs more than one car. It reeks of excess and wastefulness. Your insurance premiums alone would be enough to rocket yourself into retirement. Or are you on Daddys policy? I challenge you to think about your long term financial picture and make smarter decisions with your expendable income. When you have that mortgage, student loans, wife and kid.... expenses become much more "real". At 18, I assume you are going to college next year? Have you ever parked on a college campus? Best of luck with the X. You'll need it. |

If I were you I would keep the X, sell the other two and build a cheap e36 monster for some summer fun and spend a week in Miami with some friends. |
c'mon guys, he is 18, give him some break... he has to come to those conclusions on his own...

Helluva stable, and fine pics/titz cars...
I'm SixtyFookinFive and I sometimes think our 3 cars/3 m'cycles are slightly redundant. ;) When I was 18 I was walking around campus. :D GL, mD |
yeah three cars is a bit much.
i have the X as a daily driver. But im saving up for another car...fun car... like a z3 or z4 maybe for the summer. |
epdarks-
I understand where your coming from about having different expenses and stuff. Yeah thats the whole reason i can afford it is cause i still live with my parents, i also go to community college at the moment, and while i do still eat my parents food and all of that, its not like i dont do anything for it. I basically take care of maintenance and detailing for my parents cars also, and a few other things. Yeah, i am on my fathers policy, otherwise it would be skyrocketed, but i pay him the difference every month that it costs to have my stuff added, so its not like im freeloading and hes paying. He's not really paying a dime for that stuff, and i've borrowed money from him before which i paid of.. Rather borrow money from the family then pay banks interest. I also know what you mean about "expenses become more real". But as of now, i dont have to worry about those things, so i rather spoil myself now. In the future its a different story when i pay for it all on my own. And 3 cars, well thats peoples opinions, i MAY get rid of my Audi after new years but im not sure yet. Saying 3 cars is excessive is like saying why do you buy so many tools?, you dont need them, but then again if you DIY or its your hobby like woodworking, you do. Anyways i understand your concerns and trying to make me look at the bigger picture, i know what the bigger picture is out there and if i can live good now why not. But i dont feel like getting attacked 24/7 about that, so this should answer those questions and close the case. |
