Headlamp Washers

Hello all,

I am a new x5 owner about 2 months, how do I get my headlamp washers to run? I hav ereplced the pump and checked the fuse but not having any luck getting them to run. Do they run every time I wash the windshield or what?

I thought I read in the owners manual how to operate them...I think there's 2 ways.

Here ya go...edited from the owners manual. The headlamps will be washed on the car's own "timed" interval when you wash the windshield and the headlamps are on. Or, you can press the "S" button inward toward the steering column to activate the headlamp washers.

What a wonderful resource the owners manual is...I'm grateful that mine was still in the glovebox. :)

I don't know if these are anything like the older generation windshield washer nozzels, but the old designs on my other cars would clog when I waxed the vehicle.

I usually kept a paperclip around to use as a pipe cleaner.

Don't run your fluid low either... you'll fry the high pressure sprayers. They aren't cheap to replace, I saw the invoice on mine!

I was also told the headlamp sprayers run with every 3 pulls of the windshield sprayers.
