Hurricane SANDY, --that beotch
well guys and gals at this time i am no longer an X5er. Hurricane Sandy has flooded my Babies, 2005 X5 and a clasic cruser motorcycle:(. she is beyond repair. flooded to the roof with salt water. i hate to think what it would cost to repair. OH btw, I did not have full coverage on her:banghead:, so she is a goner.:bawling:. At this time i dont know what the future holds. i just bought a 1998 honda civic for $1500 in good mechanical condition to take me through the winter. Even though i no longer have a Bimmer i will still check in. who knows maybe i will be able to afford another in the near future;) Over the years you guys have been a great help and extreme fun to hang out with well keep up the good works and keep the information flowing. I will keep in touch

Omg! I'm sorry to hear this Fraser!
If you need a car, let me know. I have a dealers license and can get anything you want. |
OMG, so sorry to hear that!!! anything that the insurance company may do, because of the circumstances??
|
can fema help you with the losses? sorry bro!!!!!!! i'd put diesel in the cylinders and let it sit overnight and try to crank it but thats just me,lol
|
Thanks bro's, Fema is dealing with housing food and clothing now. Lets see what happens later.

I am luckier than some. My neighbor lost a 2005 M3, a MB Clk and a 2006 Acura TL,, no full coverage and his motor bike
|
Sorry for your loss. But I don't get this on a couple of levels. First of all, I could understand taking the risk of not having collision insurance, but to have liability insurance only on a car worth more than $15k does not make sense. Comprehensive coverage (or 'comp') is not that expensive. That's the part of your auto insurance that covers fire, theft, flood damage, vandalism, etc.
Second, we had plenty of warning for this hurricane. Why didn't you take your X5 and bike to higher ground??? There's not much you can do if a tree falls on your car, but to park a car in a flood prone area does not make sense to me; especially an uninsured car. |
Dam, that really sux.... But all things can be replaced as long as u and ur family are safe.
|
Sorry to hear dude. I'd part it out. No way will it ever be the same. Let me know how much you want for it. I have a friend that might be interested.
Yea call FEMA either way. They set up shop on McDonald, by the old social security office. I hear they are getting people cars. I honestly think people were surprised by the surge. Most didn't think it would be this Epic. I know a few people that managed to outrun the water, but I know a lot more that said they thought it was overhyped and thought they were safe. I guess this is a lesson for most people. |

my friends didn't want to do that as he felt the Bronx was unsafe for his baby and parked it in and underground garage in Manhattan and of course it got flooded a 01 X5 4.4i no full coverage. About the insurance yeah comprehensive is cheap unlike collision. Its only 120 dollars more for 6month period and well worth it. I have it on my 2000 x5. I'm sorry for the lost I would cry if I lost my baby. On the bright side the civic is gonna get great gas mileage compare to the X5 and parts are dirt cheap to replace and easy to install yourself. Anything helps at this point. |
