Longest period without having any problem after 100.000miles
Hehe. My car was fully tested and scanned for errors before purchase.Same day at night I faced a trans failsafe program case. 2nd day The window passenger motor failed and the car was left with open window at night. 3rd day the 4x4 lamp lit up (need recalibration). 4th day a test ride without a problem (oh that's nice). 5th 6th day did not move it from the garage for not giving it the chance to show another fault. hahaha I am afraid to drive that car in the coming days. But what was your longest period in days or miles which passes without having any electrical or mechanical problems after 100.000 miles barrier

I bought mine at 100k almost exactly on the nose. It has 120k on it now and all Ive done was replace the alternator voltage regulator ($120 part) and turned the gear around in the transfercase actuator motor (free fix).

Yea don't stress it. Just enjoy and don't be scared. It is just the time it seems to have fallen on your head. Fix the issue, and move on. Remember there are millions of these cars on the road, if they all sucked after 100k, people would not be buying them.

Thanks bagpype. Hope you'll never go into any trouble with your car

Yes SlickGT1. We have plenty of similar cars in our country. The problem is that most people don't tend to maintain their cars and don't stick to the mileage service schedule. Nothing was found in the carfax history that is related to preventive maintenance else than oil engine replacement and emission pass tests. I''ll replace in the coming days the heater exchanger as a preventive maintenance as instructed at least by BMW.
