anybody have Dynavin D99 Android installed?

I was wondering if anybody on here has the Dynavin D99 Android version installed? How it is holding up and if it is worth getting the Android version?
I've gone through a lot of threads on Dynavin, but most of them are for the older versions and the D95.

Any reviews of this device would be very appreciated!

I have the d99A, I've had it approx 6 mths I purchased it online at dynavin.com (it was cheaper then ebay). After playing around with it for a while IMO I don't believe the android is worth it, it connects when it wants to and when I tried to update it for the maps it reverted back to the original version like it didn't receive the update. Overall it works with my iphone 5 great I stream over Bluetooth. I just recently purchased the adapter to plug my phone up so I can control it with the steering wheel controls. One more negative thing is the glare during the day, I have dark tint on my X5 and the glare is still bad but I have learned to live with it. On the non android side it's not a bad unit.

My opinion, don't get the android, the device just can't run the operating system as it should. If you need NAVI & bluetooth connection get the windows version...

Thanks for the input guys, really appreciate it! is the windows version just the regular D99 that is $100 cheaper than the android version? I would want Navi, Bluetooth, and installing a back-up camera.

Also, Pink roundel, can you give me more experience with the iphone 5 and this unit? I am using an iphone 5 too, and was wondering if it paired perfectly?

As for the glare, I have very dark windows too, but I guess there isn't anything we can do about the glare right? maybe put on those anti-glare screen protectors?

Cheaper version is windows, and it has all you need, can all you need. (android has that plus all you do not need, and works bad, my opinion). Glare? Never tried the screen protector myself.

thanks for all the information! The dynavin is currently one of the most used after market navigation units for our cars right? I guess I will go with the windows version and save myself $100.

Does anybody know where I can buy one that ships to Toronto for not outrageous shipping charges?

you can try to buy from jeff at

J&T Distributing,

see how much they will charge to ship to you.

Hey folks! Just finished a permanent install of the d99+ windows version. I had DSP and had to install a new amp but, used the current speakers and wires. Installed an Infinity BassLink 10" subwoofer as well and the sound is great! Had to use 2 LOC's to handle the alternator whine.
I have an iPhone 5 and the Bluetooth and iPod functions are nice!
