I believe I used an M6 tap to create the threads and used M6 bolts from Ace Hardware. Works great.

I went to Home Depot, got myself chubby self-cutting screws (the ones that cut their way into metal hole) and was done in 10 minutes...

did the same for the fire extinguisher on the driver's side

voila!!!

I didn't have to tap a thread. Just got the bolts and screwed them right in. Everything was secure and I had no issues with it. :dunno:
