Bluetooth Pairing & Forgetting devices?
i managed to get my other phone paired and its working ive now got a replacement and cant get the X5 to go into pairing mode, how do i get it to forget any previous devices as i think this might be the problem.
the phone its paired with is a iphone4s and i need it to pair with a different (work) iphone 4s its an 03 3.0d sport with nav thanks i have tried usual pairing method, hold button under arm rest for 1-2 secs, turn key to position 2 still holding for 2-4 secs then realeasing. |
You do the following (well, this works for me):
1) Press and hold the button under the armrest for 3 seconds. 2) Turn the key to Pos2 3) You should see "bluetooth pairing" come up on the instrument panel. 4) Release the button 5) Immediately press the button again and hold for 10 seconds, or until the system beeps (usually loudly) 3 times. You will see Devices Deleted. It will stay in Pairing mode, so just pair the new phone. |
Also make sure your phone has Bluetooth turned on as we'll. The X5 can't pair with what it can't see. :)

It would be nice to know what year your car is. Can you please update your signature so that we can help you at a glance.
If your car is before 2004, you are probably screwed. |
Its a late 2003 plate, it worked fine last time i had to do this

Ok have you tried pulling the fuse for bluetooth and then putting it back in. I know my bluetooth turns on, and goes to pairing mode for only 30 sec after startup.

Have this problem. Turned out to be the eject box button. I have to use INPA to activate pairing if I want to add a phone.
Check the Bluetooth section in this forum. You might get some ideas there. Good luck, mate |
