Folding mirror broken wire
 

Hey - pulled off the cover to the passenger side power folding mirror. There is a yellow wire going to the microswitch that has come loose right at the switch. Can i open the switch? Can i buy a new or used switch and just splice it in? This must be the cause of my mirors not staying folded in. Any thoughts?

that microswitch has been identified on this forum, but no financially feasible option to buy one was identified. my info is about 6 months old...

do a search, you will find the answer - i am too lazy to search this one...

Nah, there was some guy recently that found the switch, decently cheap. Same switch fits ranger rover.

oh, yeah... dealer... dealer will happily sell you another car... just to make a buck off you.. or two...

Ahhh...that's another tip about a shared component with the Range Rover that I've got to add to my mental rolodex. :thumbup:

Now...if I could only remember the model year production range for the RR...that is equivalent to the e38 & e53. BMW purchased LR and developed a new LR/RR model, while also developing the e53, then sold LR/RR but LR/RR still used BMWs designs, then LR changed their model somewhere around 2003 using their own designs? :confused:

What I have found is: Cherry DB1 250 V/AC DB1C-B1SC <- just look that up with Google. But ask the specialists if that info is good.
