heated steering wheel
1 Attachment(s)
hey guys i just bought a used wheel
my car has no heated steering wheel and to the best of my knowledge this sports wheel does not come heated But i think someone re-leathered and added the heat on this used wheel and its got this wire connector in it (the leather looks brand new) ideas? any suggestions on wiring? there are 4 wires, #1-red to coil, #4-black to coil #2+#3 jus loop to each other(the middle ones) should i send this one out to get wrapped in alcanatara as per my original plan and hope they can save the heater element? (that square white/yellow thing on the coil is just tape, doesnt belong to the wheel) |

You can get heated on that wheel....
But to make it work on your car you'll need a new slip ring as well as a relay in the glovebox |
so, what happens when you apply 12V to the connector, while on the bench? does the wheel heat up?

Is it just me...or does anyone else think it's odd that a wire is sticking out of the rim of the steering wheel pictured...instead of running thru the wheel (or around it if it's aftermarket) then into one of the spokes so that there are no exposed wires? :dunno:  :dunno:

i think the angle of the picture is misleading - the wire that looks like sticking out the rim of the wheel is actually a taped off end wires that are "leaning" against the rim, not protruding from it. i thought the same thing when i was looking at the picture... |

Whats the part# for the appropriate slip-ring?
|
A slipring from a 2006 e53 would be the right one?
Can someone find the diagram on realoem for the slip ring part numbers? |
