Hello all, CD changer problem HELP PLEASE!
 

Hey,im new to this page but you all seem very helpful. I'm wondering if anyone can help me ? i just bought a 2001 x5 3.0 and im really happy with it but i have a 6 disk cd changer in the arm rest and when i hit the mode button i cant get it to work it just goes from fm to CD-01. has anyone else had this problem or am i just doing somthing wrong ! any input is much appriciated. Thanks

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you don't have a CD changer. What you are seeing there in the center console is just a storage rack for your CD's. The CD-01 is your CD player in the dash (located behind a hinged cover above the dash radio/MID unit)

You can add a 6-disk changer if you like, but my suggestion would be to forego that and install the Dension IceLink and use an iPod instead. Here are instructions on how to install the 6-disk changer, should to choose to go that route - http://www.xoutpost.com/showarticle-155.html
