03 X5 Bleeding Brake Problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 

Hello All,
Im having trouble bleeding my rear brakes. I replaced a couple of rusty lines under the drivers side. When I tried to bleed with the 2 man method I cannot get any pressure out of the rear whatsoever. I have done alot of research and some ppl say you need to open Abs valves/module via software or scanner, others dont mention that at all as if just bleeding with the 2 man method works fine. I need some answers quick!! gotta get this car back on the road. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.s. I have tried driving it in between bleeding it and activating the abs by braking on ice but that doesnt seem to make a difference.

i think bleeding all lines should be the same for front to back. think you might still have air in your lines, only if you were closer i would have let u borrow my motive brake bleeder. good luck.

The thing is once air gets into the ABS module the motive power bleeder or the two men method will not work,you will need open Abs valves/module via BMW GT1 scanner to bleed the system correctly

Does anyone know how to energize the module to open the solenoids to bleed the lines?

So Ive had some success bleeding with a vacuum pump. I was able to pump out about 5 oz through the lines. I had to have one person pump and hold in the x5 and the other bleed with the vacuum on the bleeder screw. Although my brake pedal is very soft still.

Any reason why this could be? How exactly does the air get trapped in the abs module.?

Update on bleeding the Brakes. I finally got the rear brakes to bleed. After multiple tries I was not successful. I ended up driving it for a week (dont recommend this to anyone) to see if the air would make its way out of the system. In my situation only the rear brakes were inoperable the fronts were working. After that I attempted to bleed with the two man method and I finally got fluid flowing through the rear brakes. Looks like the air made its way out of the system by operating for a while. Im glad this worked because my last resort was to take it to the stealer :/

Have you tried bleeding with car running?

Yes I did. But it did not help.

I recently (Friday) had this problem after one of my Goodrich SS lines cracked/developed a leak. Replaced lines (all of them) and still couldn't get good pressure. In the end, it was my master cylinder. Replaced, bled. All good.
