Akebono ceramic. So far, after a month or two, they seem good.

I really really like the way the brakes are on my X and absolutely DO NOT want any diminished performance from them. Ill take brake dust just dont want poor performance <- OEM pads. So, what do you guys recommend?

I'd get OEM pads from the dealer if that is your goal.

+1 akebonos

Well I went with OEM. For a couple reasons, 1 the akebono ceramics from NAPA I'd have to pay shipping and wait several days and that diminishes my discount. 2 The OEM pads from the dealer with wear sensors were 92 dollars with my discount and I got them today. Thanks for all the input. It helped out alot.

I have the Akebonos all around. Quiet, not as grabby as OEM but still stops good and no dust. Got them from FCP Euro about $115 for both F&R

Those are great prices! How do they do that? I will definitley keep these in mind for the next brake job.

The X was in for a little repair yesterday so I had an indy 325 loaner.
At the end of today I got reminded how sensitive the Akebono's
really are, and how big and powerful the X really is. Glad to have my
ride back....

Made it just in time for both belts and a radiator hose.....:D

You can use Textar or Jurid, are the original marks supplied by BMW in Europe.

Anyone have experience with ThermoQuiet by Wagner brake pads on the X5? I saw that the Akebono ceramics only have a 3 year warranty, and I would like lifetime. Thanks.
