Weird tranny problem.
 

My '01 4.4 has been acting up lately. Every few days or so, it will start shifting all wonky. Hard downshift from 2-1st isn't the only issue.

At cruising speeds (35-40), if you barely step on the gas it will downshift and stay there, until you get the revs way up. But as soon as you step back on the gas, it downshifts and does the same thing.

If I reset the pedal, it works fine for a few days, maybe a week. Theres no slipping, or hesitation when I put it in Drive or Reverse.

Super irritating as you can imagine. Any ideas?

sounds like your transmission fluid is low, check the level before it starts to do damage

I'll check it. But, why would a pedal reset make it go away for days at a time?
