Can someone do a quick photoshop? And some new pics

Hey guys,

I searched on google and all but i couldnt seem to find a x5 silver in color with the same style 168 wheels like mine plasti-dipped.

Im not new to plasti-dip and its a great product, and cheap to mess around with, i wanted to see how it would look with matte black wheels, if someone could photoshop the pics below, that would be sweet.

Im also considering doing black plasti-dip, with alot of silver metalizer dip on top, look up silver metalizer plasti dip on google or youtube and you'll see what it is if your not familiar.

Reason i want to even do this is one cause of the horrible brake dust, and im not going to replace good pads yet, and my wheels have paint peeling in certain spots now, and i dont want to powdercoat them again the same color, just going to wait till i put on akebono euro premium ceramics for pads, then it'll happen.

These seem to be the best 2 to photoshop for the wheels.

Matte black wheels aren't my taste, in my opinion you lose the beauty of the wheels when you go matte. Gloss black I could be into, or a satin black though. With your silver is though, the theme isn't blacked out its very OEM+ euro. If you had darker tint, maybe black grilles and sidemarkers/ red and smoked tails I could see maybe doing a satin black or gloss black wheel, to go with a silver/black theme.

how bad is the paint peeling? Any pics? I use Prima Wheel Armour on my wheels and it keeps the brake dust at bay for the most part (its like an ultra long lasting wheel sealant which polishes as you apply, couple coats of it and makes removing brake dust much easier), upgrading pads will also help if you go to ceramics.

You should try a set of Hawk HPS brake pads. They don't dust as much as OE, and the dust is grey. It is a lot less noticable on the wheels.

^^ Yup!

IMO, plasti-dipping an entire wheel that is in need of some TLC just screams "I'm cheap", especially when the silver on silver is so gorgeous to begin with...no offense :). Whether you plasti-dip your wheels black or not, you'll still see copious amounts of brake dust (abeit, to a lesser extent) that the OEM pads create. Ceramic pads can be had for a little over $100 nowadays.....so why not use the 50ish bucks you would spend on dip, put it towards some decent pads, and get the wheels refinished at a later date? The gloss finish on the 168's makes the curves and contours really pop, why lose that?

My Black gloss...
A friend of mine has a silver like yours with black gloss 168's and it looks good.

Giodog, could you get a pic of his and post it? I know how the black on black looks but i want to see it on a silver one.

Also x5snd, i can do black gloss plastidip, just get a can of plastidip glossifer and put some over each wheel.

And about the cost i already have about 3 full and one half can laying around from previous stuff.

Attachment 58192. not e53 or same style wheels but you get the idea, here is mine and yes is plasti dip, and trick to keep the plasti dip looking good at least for me is to clean it with armorall. gives it that satin look. i get nothing but compliments on the wheels and how aggressive the truck looks. u the one going to C&C in leigh high valley right on the 23rd ?
