And the purpose of this was??? poor X5
|
Ha! It appears that the driver may been pressured into doing it. Waste of time though.
|
The point? Well that's easy, exterior clensing! A mud bath is all the rage these days!
|
Now I know how much those threaded tow points can handle

Dumb vid but stout tow point.
|
Lol some people have too much time on their hands..
|
I don't think any of those people have ever seen a tow strap or chain snap. They were all standing too close, at least I think so. I have seen a couple of them snap and I wouldn't want to be near it.

Seemed pretty pointless to drive the thing into that hole; makes me wonder if they did the same with other vehicles to see if they could be driven out. I'd think the Unimog would've even had a tough time doing that. |
The point?? Well thats easy. Vehicle bras are very expensive over there. They have designed this special hole just to make the mud bra. It really helps with the rock chips on the highway.

Right and they take the saying "when shit hits the fan" very literally there.....

newbie here
Hi everyone. Just found our first pre owned x5 (waiting on inspection to finalize the deal) and thought we would poke around to get to know the site. That video was just plain stupid. But like I said, new around here and that is just my opinion. We have a 1 tonne super duty diesel 4x4 and I would not even think of doing that. Guess some people need to have "fun" in their own way. Lol

Welcome and congrats on the X.... |
I am impressed that the engine was still running after sucking in all that mud via the front end. Judging by the fact that they had the snatch strap all ready it does not look like too many other competitors were getting thru that mud either.
|
Yea I don't think anything bud the baddest jeep was getting through that.
They wanted to show us how strong that tow hook point is. I didn't think they would be able to just yank that X out like that. |
