Aiming 2002 X5 xenon headlights
 

They look pretty easy to adjust but are there aiming tools or techniques to properly adjust headlights, thanks Gonzo

On my 04, I just use trial and errors for re-aiming. It's crude but it works for me. Driving on a darkened road you can see where the headlights are pointing and you'll know if they're too high or low and readjust accordingly.

Thanks that is what I have been doing but I just am never sure what is best. I guess a really dark road in a very lonely place would work best. Thanks again.

Another idea is to park a short distance away from your garage door. You will see exactly where your lights are aiming in terms of both horizontal & vertical adjustment. On a dark road, you have nothing to use as a scale!

Aren't they self leveling? Thuse they do what they think is right? Mine are aimed to short in my opinion.
