Thoughts on these Tail Lights
they have the look im going for : 00 06 BMW E53 x5 Red Smoked Tail Lights Rear Brake Lamps Left Right | eBay
only concern is the price seems low , would it set off any errors in the computer? |
No these would not because they are not LED. These are basically the same ones i have on my car and i like them. I decided not to go for LED because its cheap taillights and i expected them to break in random spots and you cant replace a led bulb really.
Go for it! Heres pics of mine: http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/...08934FA21F.jpg http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/...5/72e8b268.jpg |
Why not just get some smoke tint and tint the white part yourself? Unless you're going with the LED option, I don't know why you'd need to buy a new set of taillights just to have the white part smoked
|
Yeah, if you can make clean edges with an x-acto knife, get a roll of smoke headlight/foglight tint off ebay ($10 or less), and apply it to the clear portion of the light.
Since its not a huge area like wrapping panels of a car with vinyl wrap, bubbles and stuff are real easy to control and the roll has alot of film so you could learn thru trial and error. Its basically the same film i use to yellow wrap my foglights just smoke color. |
Use night-shade paint.

I tried to do just the whiyte part but it looked Дерьмово. I also like the extended reverse light strip. also the red part is slightly darker as well.
But the reason i got them is it was cheaper than 1 of the corder parts which got busted. |
