another spacer thread
 

I know the topic of spacers have been probably beaten to death on this forum, but what i am trying to find out is if i can use a set of spacers from e90 on my car?
I have a set locally that is for sale but is is mounted on e90 335i. The bore sizes are the same i think, but i am not sure if i will be able to use the bolts that came with these spacers... Any insight from gurus on this forum?

Spacers should be 72.6 centerbore which is identical. Lugs are completely different. I'm not sure where you can get the longer lugs separate.

I think these might be the ones that are bolted on to wheel hub and you use your stock bolts to mount the wheels...

If that is the case, would i be able to use it then?

Depends on thickness. I have 30mm adapter spacers in back and needed special flush bolts for the portion that bolts to the hub and then longer lugs for the 15mm portion that bolts to the spacer on the hub.

More then likely you will need different lugs no matter what.

1) I think all BMW 5 lug are the same bolt pattern - 5x120. So, it should be okay if its a 5 lug.

2) I would make sure the inner hub bore for the spacer is the same and not use hubcentric rings.

3) Go here and compare what kind of spacer it is.

DR Type - If you need to go through the spacer and screw into the hub you MAY need longer wheel bolts - depending on spacer thickness.

DRS - Not applicable

DRA Type - If its the kind that bolts the wheel to the spacer and not through to the hub, then you don't need extended bolts. Use your stock bolts.

DRM/Wheel Adapter - Spacer bolted to the hub. The wheel is attached to the spacer with nuts and wheel STUDS pre-installed on the spacer.

Looking at it, the bolt diameter is all the same (That's what i was worried about). The length would obviously be different...
Unfortunately in my case the spacer is DR so it comes with its own bolts that i think would be too short for my X5. If it was DRA - should not have been a problem then...

On mine, H&R 30mm back, 25mm front + fender flares. Tires are flush.
No problem to report. The X follows the cracks in the road more than before, but I also have 0° toe F&R, so that may be the cause.

That looks really nice. but yours has extended flares which i don't have (i am thinking about getting them if i can find a good deal on them)
I was thinking only about putting 20mm spacers in the back... but now i am thinking maybe i should get 30mm instead...

You don't have to do wheel alignment after installing spacers, do you?

I like the ECS Tuning spacers.
Very well made and I have had no issues with them I even leave them on when I put my snow tires on.

I like ECS spacers too, i was going to get thme, but after i got a shipping quote, i decided to look elsewhere... We are getting screwed here in Canada with shipping, customs and duty fees :(
