Unless you have a press or priority is to upgrade the ENTIRE front suspension, you are looking for a considerable amount of extra work to remove the existing bushing. It is far easier to purchase the tension strut with the bushing installed. The bushing can be removed with a sazall though you have to be very careful not to damage the tension strut by cutting to deep or at an angle. If you decide to replace just the bushing and don't have a press there is a ball joint tool you can purchase or rent that will also press out the bushing.

I will be using a piece of 3" pipe and a good 8" C-clamp leaving the arm connected if the ball joint is still tight. Shouldn't be a problem!

BigBlack4.8is,

Isn't this you first post in this string?

Yes you can make a tool with the right size pipe and C-clamp to do the ball joint and also the bushing. Posts and videos I have read about doing so worked on ball joints pretty well but were far less successful used on the bushings.

ordered both tension struts. If they go bad in a year than no biggie, I will put powerflex on old arms... for now this is the easy way.

if you bought new ball joints too, I'd just whack the fuckers out of there once you get the tension strut unbolted at the frame.

Pretty sure the ball joints take an inverted torx socket on the knuckle as well, so if those are getting replaced you need an E14 socket or something like that.

If not replacing ball joints, you'll have to use a nice puller tool to get separated from the arm.

I suggest identifying the parts that has failed on your car and changing just that with parts from recognized supplier. It will cost you more but at least you don't have to worry about having to do the same job again in 6 month...
