BMW : X5 4.8is Sport Package LeMans Special Edition in BMW | eBay Motors

Roadkill 03-22-2013 06:19 PM

Just saw that the other day. Didn't realize that bmw made a special edition 4.8??? He'll never get anywhere close to that price.

mike_dmt 03-22-2013 06:33 PM

No kidding! Even if he did put the new engine in at 177000km.... maybe he meant $15,000.

TerminatorX5 03-22-2013 06:39 PM

this one has had a lot of work done at 177K km (Canadian car), including a new engine... it seems that the guys is trying to recover his cost of the items that he installed or replaced in the car... I just wonder, if the car will sell - i think, he listed the car at that price not to sell the car but to appease his wife who wants a minivan - i would've done the same thing: honey, nobody wants to buy it, so we have to keep it... lol...

Bayerische E53 03-22-2013 07:28 PM

Cool ride. That guy's taste is similar to mine (minus the hip-hop-dubz :damn: )

Whitecat 03-22-2013 09:50 PM

Man, $35k for a 2004 ....toooooo much ... what is the point to show pictures with that big smoke out of the pipe ???:dunno:

giodog2000 03-22-2013 10:13 PM

Hey Gio, at that price do you include the hitch and the hydraulics fixed ;)

ukrcan 03-22-2013 10:52 PM

Looks like this guys in Calgary... I know prices for cars are overinflated here... but that's a bit too much... i think he is trying to show his wife that he can't sell it, or he is just trying to get his money back for all the work he had put into the car (which he will never get)
Nice car though, for sure

TwinsPoppa 03-22-2013 11:38 PM

I call BS. I think the guy might be a scammer. That thing does not even LOOK like a SE X5. There wasn't just LeMans blue either.

Special Edition BMW X5 Models

1) If I'm not mistaken, ALL LeMans Blue SE (and maybe ALL SEs period) were 3.0d - NO 4.8s.

2) The LeMans SE had front flares and different style rear flares.

That looks like a regular 4.8 and that's all. LOL

You can see pics of it in my other thread.

He apparently didn't put a new engine in at 177,000 km; it says New Engine, but then it says replaced valve guides, valve stem seals and head gasket. That isn't a new engine, it is a repair.

It is also a US car, from Las Vegas (where it had two accidents, according to the history report). Any US car in Canada has a reduced resale value. Also makes you wonder why he is using km (lower apparent mileage?) and selling in US dollars, if the car is in Canada.

The vehicle is also listed on Autotrader (four times). Right next to a 2004 3.0 for the same price. And a 2004 4.4 for $38k. Maybe those are the benchmarks he used to set his price.

Dking05 03-23-2013 01:41 PM

Sooo not worth the asking price...

He probably is over exaggerating, doesn't know, or BS the lemans thing.

The true Lemans edition was a 3.0(d?) with other nice exterior bits like others said.

The only special thing about the 4.8is is being a 4.8is nothing more, unless you have an individual.

TiAgX5 03-23-2013 01:49 PM

A twice crashed modded 4.8??? He will be lucky to get 1/2 his asking $s.
