also, fuse 41 is the one that feeds through the ignition switch, thus it may display the symptoms of the ignition switch...
also, check to see if anything is shorting across the fuses, like a piece of a thin wire (like a hair thin from the inner wire strands)... when fuse 41 gets "unauthorized" power, there are unknown things that may happen... also, that fuse feeds into pin 23 of the GM, and that pin may give you issues on the lock/unlock functions in addition to wiper problems... there is only one way to work correctly, and a gazillion ways for things to go wrong... :) |
here is what i dug up on the interior lights:
Interior lighting and load cut-out The interior lighting is controlled by following switches and systems:
The lights of the interior lighting system can be switched on and off by means of the button at the front of the central light unit. However, the lighting is still controlled automatically by the general module. This means the interior lighting switched off by means of this button would be switched on again by opening a door. As a special function, the interior lighting can be switched off permanently when the button is depressed for longer than 3 seconds. The system reverts to automatic mode when the button is pressed once again. Switch-on conditions
The following lights in the vehicle can be switched on when the vehicle is parked:
To ensure the vehicle battery is not discharged when the lights are switched on permanently, the general module switches off the B+ supply 16 minutes after switching off terminal R. These loads are switched on again when terminal R or 15 is switched on in conjunction with a signal change at an input of the general module or peripheral module, e.g. opening a door, opening the front (bonnet) lid, unlocking a door. |
in the fuse line up for the inner lights i see the following fuses:
fuse 41 (again!!) fuse 14 fuse 27 fuse 25 fuse 83 fuse 42 fuse 36 fuse 33 entry lights module I01009 is fed by fuse 4 and fuse 17... ricky, you got yourself some fuse testing ahead of you!!! :) |

Edit the first post to say solved. Not delete the first post pretty much rendering this thread useless.... |

Allnight - the interior lights on stock E53 are not LEDs (except for the orange lights in the overhead bin, and the lights in the door handles, if so equipped)... what's up with your rear left door? ust a burned light bulb? or, you are having issues? |
