Replacing high beam headlight bulb
 

I can't seem to find any reference on how to replace the high beam headlight bulb, I know that i need to remove the bumper if i wanted to change the low beam, do i have to do the same for the high beam?

Also, i wanted to replace the fog light bulbs as well, are there any tricks as to how to remove the fog light cover? Are there any clips i need to press to pull them out? DIY says just pull it out, i am a bit concerned about breaking clips if they exist..

I know on the pre-facelifts just pop the hood and the connector and bulb cover is right in plain view, not sure about the facelifts though, open the hood and see if you can twist off the cover for the high beam bulb?

as for the fog lights, again I am talking from experience on my 2003, but I just had to use a small flat head to pry off the covers carefully by just going around the cover (they are clipped in) and then there was two screws holding the fog light assembly in which i undid and carefully pulled out the fog light assembly.

Just pop the housing cap off you would to change the angel eye. Inside Just pull the connector off (it's got white and brown wires), and use the spring clip to unlock the bulb.

If that doesn't quite work, remove the 2 torx screws on either side of the bulb backing plate....the whole thing will come out then. Once you get in there and see what im talking about it should all make sense!

Thanks guys, It all sounds pretty straight forward...Looks like the drivers side will be tricky though as there is no room to work...

You have a facelift model. You can follow this DIY if you have bi-xenons (which you probably do). You can replace HL bulbs without removing the front bumper but it can be quite frustrating and easier to drop/lose screws that hold the back cover to the headlights.

The bi-xenons use the same bulb for low and high beam (#3 in the pic below). There is a shutter in the head light that is down 1/2 way when its low beam. When you engage high beam the shutter moves up out of the way.

If you are talking about the DRLs/flashers (inner pair of lights #5 below), that is in the same place as the angel eye bulbs. Bulb is held in by a spring clip. You can see it in the upper right (above the angel eye bulb holder) in the second pic below. They are NOT your high beams.

The fog light covers just pop out and you don't need any tools. Just follow that DIY link above. There's a notch on the top. You hold onto the cover at the notch and pull down (this will unclip it a little). Then pull it out towards you. You'll see what I mean when you try it. Don't worry you won't break any clips.

Last, but not least, if you do end up removing/loosening the headlights make sure you mark somehow your original placement of your headlights. You can use tape to mark the headlight mounting tabs on top of the headlights. Otherwise, you might need to get your headlights aimed properly.
