Drivers Side Tail Light Stays On
So today when I got out of my car and walked around the back I noticed that my rear driver side brake light stays on even after my car is turned off. I already did a little research and I can't really find a conclusive answer to what the problem is. Therefore does anyone know whats going on? And how to fix it?
Thanks in advance, Elvis |
make sure your turn signal switch isnt on .. example..if u shut your car off and have your turn signal on for the left side the lights will stay lite same goes for the right side

Forgot to add that I checked that, and it is definitely not on.

LCM could be on it's way out...
Mine did funky thinking before it went beserk |
It's weird though because I can get it to turn off if I turn my car back on and then off...

Not my onboard computer has began to tell me that my headlights, fog lights, and tag light is out and need to be checked. Does this sound like a bad LCM?

start with the battery - a dying battery sends out "fluids" that wake up electrical gremlins in the E53... your headlights might work on their own, like just the left one, or the fog turns on by itself, or a window starts rolling down by itslef... as the modules are underpowered, they send out iBus telegrams that make no sense, but those nonsense telegrams are read out by other, alive modules and the commands are exectuted, regardless of how stupid they are... most of the electrical equipment in these cars can be activated or deactivated by the iBus telegrams, like the seat positions, A/C activation, windows or the lights... start with the battery... then move on to the next issue on the complexity ladder |
Should I got to an auto parts store and have them check the battery? Or is it just better to get a new battery?

Get it checked, likely you can purchase the battery at the same place. If you need to purchase a battery be sure to match OEM battery parameters.

Also make sure the battery has vents in the BMW locations
