100-120km/hr vibration FIXED
 

got my tires/wheels ROAD-FORCE balanced today at the ford dealership for 100$


took more than 2 hours due to having to de/mount ---> RE/RE multiple times

no more vibration at coasting/braking/accelerating @ 100-120km/hr
and also no shaking/pulsing of the wheel when turning L <---> R @ over 50km/hr

Eeks. Why the multiple times on mount-remount.

With the proper equipment, they should be able to match mount and mount a wheel fairly easily. The latest mounting equipment I've seen these guys use - they mounted a tire on a 26" wheel like it was a ~high profile~ tire. 2 guys not even needed to boot !

I dunno, mayb he forgot to take old weights off befor starting machine,
They did say 1 of the beads didnt seat properly aswell so he he was stuck there for a bit

For clarity i ment mount demount as when u balance the tire assembly the machinr tells you to rotate the tire on the rim to match the 2 peices together than u add the weights after the tire is at the right position

This process takes a long time if you gatta do it on all 4 wheels and i can only imagin how long it takes to take the wheels from balance to mounter remount fill with air than cary it back to balancer, and even harder when u got 275//315s on a 20' rim

I posted it cause I'd be weary if they spent so long mounting....aka, difficulty/struggling = messing with the beads too much = damage.

With the right equipment/better equipment, these new machines mount low profile tires like there were made out of jello. I was amazed/blown away on how fast and effortlessly the machine mounted low pro tires when I saw it in action. Usually sometimes a 2nd person/helper helps to assist as well but a single person was all that was needed.

They didnt remove tires from wheels, just rotated the rubber on the rim to reduce wheel assembly ovality

The machine puts weight on the wheel to sense where the tire is out of round,
my tires are 80% but the kaltire that the previous owner got new rubber put on last year doesnt have a road-force machine, and they put 26psi in the tires which made the light come on for low air in tires

All the tech had to do was remove old weights -> check on machine -> unseat bead -> rotate rubber on rim -> reseat fill to proper psi and check again, once rubber is set at right place than u can add the wheel weights

I don't drive my car during the week so I tend to forget things.

spent 4 hours last Saturday trying to get my tires balanced :-(
They still did not get it right.

Don't know what the issue is took off the summers stored then in the garage like I always do.
Took the car in to have them take off the winters put on the summers...wobbled once I got up to speed.
Took the car back they balanced them.....wobbled once I got up to speed
Took the car back they rotated the tires checked the balance and the hubcentric rings....wobbled when I got up to speed even though they road tested the car.


I am going tomorrow to get the road force balance hope it does not take two hours ugggg :-(

it will take more than 2.5 hours
it took a dealership with a good tech more than 2.75 hours to do road force balance on mine but the difference is NIGHT and DAY
huge improvement

double check your rotational directions on ur rubber to make sure aswell
