And after you do all that, the Sprint Booster will take care of your problem. There's BS all over the internet on this thing, and believers and nonbelievers shouting at each other like crazy people. It doesn't add HP, it's not a tune, the only thing it does is change throttle response - but it most definitely does get rid of the damnable throttle lag that's been purposefully built in by BMW. Have gradually taken the plunge and put one on all three of mine, and would never go back - made a huge difference on the X5. May be the best money I've spent.

Recall stuff should be done on BMW's dime I believe. Not sure on the DME update. Paid a 100 bucks, but I think BMW charges upwards of 300 bucks for updates, but I bet you can negotiate some with them. Try your indy first.

Once that is done, I would defiantly consider a Shark Injector. Haven't tried the sprint booster, but with the injector, you get a performance software tune and in my case, a few more hp's opened up and interestingly, seem to have better MPG's. Throttle response is fine tuned as well. It costs about the same as a sprint booster. I think you'd be happy with either, but I think you get more for your money with the injector.

thanks for the tips on the sprint booster and shark injector... i will add them to my list of products to research. right now, i have an oil leak i need to address! :(
