x5 4.8is Wheels, Thoughts?!
5 Attachment(s)
Hey all,
I'm looking at a few options of wheels to put on my 05' Black 4.8is. Please let me know which look is most desired. 1- in Black or silver 2- in Black or silver 3- in Black or silver 4- in Black or silver 5- in Black or silver Appreciate it! |
they look all good...do you the prices on them...i am looking to upgrade on mine as well.
|
I like #1 & #4 style...thicker, less busy spoke pattern, easier to clean than the tight spoke pattern options, a bit more 'meaty spoke' than the thinner spoke styles, but black or silver is your choice.

these are black 5-spoke on 4.8iS
|
#1 or #4 in silver: concave look is nice, and black makes the wheel look smaller, so silver.
|
I vote #5 in silver. They're close to my dream wheels--Vossen CV4s in matte graphite.
|
None of them .
Go with Vossen cv3 |

I actually like the Vossen CV1 maybe in matte black. :D Wait ... Tom, don't you have Vossen CV3s?! Those ARE pretty nice too. Bnagy4.8, I would find 5 spokes that don't taper too small at the ends (like those in your poll). The Vossen CV3s are nicer I think. ;) |
I'm just looking at the overall style (spokes wise). I am a fan of the 5 spoke. Multi spoke seems to be more of a car style not SUV style. I appreciate all the input!
|
I just love the 87s!Agree with you ,5 spoke is what suits X5 better and out of the ones you posted,I go with Motordavid´s choice!Number 4 is fantastic looking :)
|
FYI-the less and thinner the spokes the more visible the rotors and calipers. 87s are a good balance unless you want more visibility.

Are you only looking aftermarket and not OE? Are these examples that you posted coming in a staggered setup with stock offsets and widths?
I like the TSW's in black, but only if they are staggered. Do you have 168's now, or what wheels do you currently have? |

I am looking at staggered rims with stock off sets, the only difference is the staggered is 8.5" front 10.5" back or 9" front 10.5" back. as for OE I would love OE but it is really expensive. I just overall want really nice complimenting wheels for the right price or the best bang for the buck so anything I see will help me with my decision. As of yet though I had an update on my engine being blown at the dealership so its not looking good on wheels. Search: "Dealer blows my 4.8is engine" to follow the most ridiculous nightmare of a story an x5er can ever run into.. |

Definitely do not do 8.5" in the front, I'm wary of 9" in the front too. If you want OE look without OE price, check out this sellers listings on ebay. I bought a set of 168's from this exact guy with Toyo Proxes ST2 tires for 1850 shipped over the summer, phenomenally impressed with the quality and love the wheels for the price. Unless there were huge defects I'm not spending double the price to say I bought my wheels at the dealer. Seller is "wheel tech tuning" and other members here have bought from him and been pleased. He sells 214s and the X5M wheels as well, in Matte Black, Gloss Black, or Silver. I showed you a listing for the Toyo tires but he sells Continental DWS for more, or a budget brand tire for less. Hope that helps. And I am following your engine thread as well I know you have bigger fish to fry, just thought I'd help. 20" BMW x5 3 0 4 4 4 8 and x6 Staggered Wheels and Tires BMW x5 and x6 Rims | eBay |
