Another mysterious noise post

Get ready for some vague comments to answer a vague question...

ah well

Just changed the transmission fluid and filter...don't think it has anything to do with the noise but here it goes.

Noise sounds like a light metal on metal contact, more like metal spinning against metal... almost like a bicycle wheel noise might make when the rim rubs against the bars in one spot on the bent rim.

Does not happen in park or neutral while revving. Does not appear to affect driving performance at all. Just...a noise..

Happens while accelerating. Does not appear to be tied directly to wheel speed or direct RPM speed. But DOES get faster as RPMs increase. AS engine shifts to higher gear (2 to 3 for example) noise dies down until next gear change approaches. *I think* As I let off the gas completely...noise stops...Torque Converter or something close to it?? Valves? Timing chain?

Only time I really hear it, is while going up a parking garage with windows open. Otherwise would never hear it.
