check break /rear light warning
 

2005 X5 3.0i

I changed the bulbs twice already but the "check brake/rear light" keeps popping up. When I loosen and tighten the sockets, the warning goes away then it pops up couple days later. Has anyone else had this issue?

More like who hasn't had something like this.

For starters, clean the socket and bulb contacts - regular pencil eraser works well.
