Stock angel eyes
My stock angel eye/rings went out on the passenger side this weekend. It took me forever to figure out which side lights they were talking about. I was wondering to I have to replace the whole light fixture it is there a way to just do the rings?

You need just a bulb. One bulb per side (1 bulb power 2 rings)

alternative light bulb:
Ancor Marine Grade Products Halogen Bayonet Base Bulb 1.67 A 12 V 20 W Part # 529337 Barcode 0 91887 80574 1 531 Mercantile Drive Cotati, CA 94931 707-792-0312 ph 707-795-7950 fax |
Term whats so special about those?
And also i dont think you have to replace the whole bulb element, you can just remove the bulb itself, but it may be superglued to it. Its the perfect time to upgrade to some Led brighter ones! |
the OE does not sell just the light bulbs, they sell the light assembly, about $15-20 a pop...
the light bulb itself is a 10 W bulb... these are same as the factory light bulbs, just 20W as opposed to factory's 10W. the light bulb is hard to remove from the assembly, as it is "locked" inside the plastic shiny shroud - you would need to cut couple notches to clear the bulb out... can be done, delicately... still, not really practical, you still have the halogen bulb, albeit more powerful... http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...rror-code.html |
Wait, I thought you could just replace the bulb. Since we don't know what he drives....

he must be driving E53, since he is in the E53 forum, and being stock, it is probably facelifted version... that is all that could deduced from the original post... :nanana: |

Then I am confused, I just popped the hatch and swapped out the bulbs with the led's. coding aside, it took 30 minutes in January, in the dark, including crimping on the connector. |
