Power brake issues
 

2005 4.8 - I am loosing my " boost " on the brakes occasionally. Seems to occur at low RPM's, but a little exciting !
I read that X5's from 2007 up had been recalled due to oil infiltration into the brake booster. Anyone know if this was an issue for the 2005 model ?
Any suggestions appreciated.

Vacume booster?
Mounted on passenger side top cylinder

Facing the front with 1 line coming off goin to the brake booster,

This vacume pump makes the booster give u power assist, the only way oil can get to the brake booster is through here

Thanks for your reply Gurjit. What I read was that the oil was coming from the vacumn pump, but there is supposed to be some sort of check valve in the line to stop it from getting thru to the Booster / Servo unit. The loss of boost on the Servo only occurs occasionally. Hoping I can just replace the vac. line to correct the problem.
