2004 X5 3.0 - What to expect @ 70k+ miles

I am new to this forum, I have 70580 miles on my 2004 E53 3.0L 6 Cyl Engine Code: M54 AT: 5L40-E/GM5 (A5S 390R) I already did the following ( past extended warranty period ): 2013 * Serviced AT with AT Filter Kit & Redline D4 ATF * Replaced Trunk lid grip * Replaced Basic Module 3 * Replaced hood shocks 2011 * Serviced Cooling System Replaced [Expansion Tank, Upper Radiator Hose, BMW Coolant] * Replaced Multi-Rib Drive Belt + reversing pulley * Replaced Battery (94RMF WorldPac) * Replaced Differential Fluid * Replaced (2) Front outer axle boots Is it a good time to replace my spark plugs , RIB V-belt (climate compressor) and Water Pump? I am in need of replacing the oil filter seal , valve cover gasket and power steering line also. My local guy can get me all those parts for a 125.00 if you are interested. as soon as i get a free day i will be tackling these jobs

Don't forget to check your transfer case to see if it needs to have its fluid replaced.
Spark plugs if you like - I checked and changed mine at 60k and they appeared to be fine then, but had them changed anyway since I already had them out. Waterpump and T-stat & hoses (those you haven't already swapped out). |
Do your plugs, vcg and vanos all at the same time.

M54's don't like to overheat, so check out that expansion tank and other cooling components.

I added the following : - replace transfer case fluid with new drain & fill plugs - NGK platinum spark plugs - Oil separator valve - Lower coolant hose temp sensor I will hold off on the following ( will do these @ 100k miles) - water pump - ac tensioner - tstat housing - 2nd replacement of main drive belt - 2nd transmission drain and fill ( with set filter) - maybe radiator as well - 2nd transfer case fluid - and all items on inspection 2 ( except for the plugs) |
