BMW designengineers wouldn't be able to understand why you would want it off. There isn't a separate vent system, so it works better being on. In summer it cools, in winter it drys out the air and reduces condensation. I do understand that some like the AC off, just like some like the windows down on the highway. In my case, I turn on the AC when I buy a new vehicle, and leave it on until I sell it. I use the temperature control settings, and if the system determines it doesn't need to run the compressor it doesn't do so.

my in laws mdx has the compressor on all the time doesn't matter if the temp is on 80 or 60 you have to manually turn the compressor off the same was for my audi if the ac light is on that means the compressor is off

STYLE 87's FOR SALE OR TRADE WILLING TO SEPERATE

Pressing the snowflake button to lock out the compressor is so 1970s. It used to be that there was a reason to do it for improved mileage. Not so much today. The only AC compressor I ever failed was 27 years ago, after 6 months of not using it (I lived in the far north at the time). It failed upon startup the next spring. After that, I left every AC system on all year, and never had an AC problem again.

Now, about that signature line....

But what stands out even more is the large blue font with the prominent spelling mistake in it. Separate.
