What's missing in this pic - 2006 x5

Hey all. Just picked up 2006 x5 and noticed an empty compartment above the nav module as well as a long wire with nothing attached. Any ideas what was there or can be there ?

you should have a small module with 1 wire connected to it sitting at the top of the module rack, but thats not the right connector for it, looks like something connected to the back of the bluetooth module, just looks for pics of the amp, gps, cdchanger and you might spot the one, just reach behind and check after

and you should have a bluetooth module and an amplifier both mounted under the 6-disk changer

Thx will search for pics. But which module should be at the top at that module rack?

Looks like plug for satellite radio antenna... Mine had one on when i bought it, never bothered taking off but i have that same plug except they ran it up front by a pillar (unless something else on the car has one that looks the same then im wrong)

Where's your bluetooth antenna? I thought the 2002-up E53 had 2 threaded bolts on the top level for the BT antenna like in the pic below. Or perhaps you're fretting over the empty space between the BT antenna and the Nav CPU?

I am not going to tell you how because I think a few of the sites got shut down, but see if you can find out your options by entering your VIN. I bet you thats the satellite radio antenna. IIRC that only should have been installed if you had that as an option. Do you have shark fin on top of the car?

No shark fin

looks like SMB connector on an RG-174 cable... BMW used these connectors for the OE radio module, the OE TV tuner and the antennae. also the sat tuner used the same and if I am not mistaked the MK1 used it for the GPS antenna. you have MK4, and 2006 never had MK1, 2 or 3. the BT and the Telematics units all use FAKRA connectors, which essencially are the same SMB connectors but in a different housing, color coded for different applications, purple being BT application (you can see FAKRA connector on the picture of the BT antenna in post by Qsilver.
what is your last 7 digits of the VIN?
