Quick question: ATF for N62 transmission

Is the ATF change procedure for this transmission (GA6HP26Z) the same as the other ZF transmissions used by BMW?
What I mean, is: after dumping the old ATF, cleaning the magnets (not sure if this one has magnets), replacing the filter & gasket. refill until it starts overflowing, turn the engine on, work the shifter with A/C on, etc bring the fluid to 35°C-50°C, and with the engine running, top up the tranny until it overflows? (level surface)

Couldn't find a reliable source to confirm.

Thx

6HP26/28/32: The CTSC - ZF Parts

I used the lifetime 6 fluid. Do yourself a favor an order an extra fill plug as mine was buggered up for whatever reason (rebuilt by BMW transmission). I also spilled a bit of fluid so order an extra liter...

I used the procedure you described.

Admranger, thanks for the reply. I just wasn't sure if it's the same procedure. Thanks

I followed the same procedure you are describing in my driveway using Redline D4 and purchased the filter, gasket and electrical connector sleeve ( $5 worth of insurance ). I did everything at 100k miles and then dumped the fluid and refilled it again at 105k and it now shifts stronger and faster then before! I suggest to everyone who owns a vehicle past 80k miles to change that filter!!!!

I ended up putting about 3-4 qts. per fluid swap ( loosing some while your bringing it up to temp )
